The current release version of Templot is version 0.74.b and most of the user documentation on this Templot web site applies to that version.

This new Pug version contains many additional features, including direct support for diamond-crossings, additional provision for slips, and a 'pick-and-place' snapping function for the templates. However, there are several changes to the menus not shown in the existing Templot Companion pages.

If you are just starting to learn Templot, it is recommended that you remain with release version 0.74.b until you have completed the track plan tutorial sequence. Upgrade to Pug 0.82.d when you have become familiar with Templot. With the proviso that diamond-crossings and slips are much simplified, so leave trying those until you are ready to upgrade.

Note that the Pug version doesn't include the sample track plan files, so new users and re-installers should first download and install the existing release version (0.74.b). Don't install the Pug version unless you have an existing version of Templot installed on your computer.

If you have upgraded to WindowsXP please download and install 0.74.b before installing any other version. This has a revised delivery program to create the desktop shortcuts, file associations and uninstall options for Templot on WindowsXP.

Remember that the downloaded file must be run (opened) on your system before you can use the new Pug version of Templot. When run it will overwrite your existing TemplotZero.exe program file, so if you wish to retain that, rename it TemplotZero74b.exe or whatever beforehand, or copy it elsewhere. click-guide tutorials The tutorials are awaiting major revisions for this Pug. The Diamond-Crossing tutorial is entirely redundant - diamond-crossings are now directly supported.
